AJP Log Construction &
Woodland Products has recently
taken delivery of a second Avant
Tecno mini loader machine from
local dealer, Jay Engineering.
The first Avant machine
purchased, a 21kW (28 hp)
model 630, was chosen after a
demonstration. This machine is
now dedicated to moving timber
around the yard, whilst the newly
acquired 635 model, which is
powered by a more powerful 28
kW (37.5 hp) Kubota diesel
engine, is used mainly off-site for
a wide variety of jobs.
In fact, AJB recently won a
contract from Test Valley Borough
Council to manage woodlands
and its staff were so impressed
with the abilities of the Avant
that is now employed for several
different jobs using a range of
easy-change attachments
including a mower, winch and
general purpose bucket.
The 635 weighs in at 1380 kg
and features hydrostatic allwheel
drive, an articulated
chassis giving an inside turning
radius of just 900 mm and a
useful lift capacity of 1000 kg. In
addition, like all Avant machines,
the 635 has an offset telescopic,
self-levelling boom which not
only ensures excellent handling
capabilities but also provides the
operator with an unrestricted
view of the attachment in use.
