Macroom Golf Club in Co
Cork, Ireland is situated in the centre of the town, and is accessed
through the impressive
castle arch, the former entrance to the Demense - the grounds
belonging to a mansion - of Lady Olive Ardilaun.
The club
has recently purchased a Jacobsen Fairway 305 from local
Ransomes Jacobsen distributor Kevin Broderick Ltd. Ransomes
Jacobsen is
a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company.
The Fairway 305 is a medium
weight four-wheel drive, five unit fairway mower with excellent
reliability and productivity. The floating head cutting units follow
ground contours and rear roller brushed ensure a clean finish.
Four-wheel drive is a standard feature providing greater traction and
a fully adjustable suspension seat gives the operator a comfortable
work station.
Kieran Morris is the head
greenkeeper and leads a team of six greenkeeping staff at the
18-hole, 6,038 yard course. Commenting on the Fairway 305 he said:
“At almost 3 metres, the width of cut on the 305 is impressive.
“That translates into very
good productivity, but the highlight is its quality of cut. The
finish it leaves is excellent.”
